The UAE Cabinet has approved the launch and rollout of a Cabinet AI Advisor system powered by 32 specialised agentic AI advisers, marking a new phase in the country’s push to embed artificial intelligence in high-level government operations.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the system after chairing a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on September 2.
The advisers are designed to analyse Cabinet programmes, policies and legislation; assess financial, economic, social and environmental effects; compare global practices; and submit recommendations based on approved inputs and sources. The government says the system will also support ministers around the clock in following through on decisions and implementation.
The announcement is more consequential than a standard government digitisation project because it brings agentic AI into the Cabinet’s operating framework rather than limiting it to public-facing services. The system is intended to accelerate the study of initiatives while retaining a governed process for Cabinet decisions.
Our goal is a more efficient government, and faster and more accurate decisions.
— Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
The official announcement places confidentiality and compliance with national cybersecurity standards at the centre of the model. That framing is significant for a system expected to handle sensitive policy, legislative and strategic material.
The AI Advisor launch was part of a wider Cabinet agenda that included a government-wide agentic AI transformation programme, approval of AI curricula for public and private schools, and a cloud migration project for federal institutional resource-management systems.
For the UAE’s technology economy, the move turns AI governance into a visible leadership test: the Cabinet is not merely encouraging adoption by companies and institutions, but using the technology inside its own decision-support architecture. The system’s practical performance, safeguards and quality of recommendations will determine how far that experiment travels beyond the Cabinet room.
